Lenovo Z5, the first true bezel-less smartphone, is expected to launch on June 5. Chang Cheng, Lenovo Group’s Vice President has been very vocal about the smartphone and has teased the device in the form of renders and has even shared camera samples from the device. Now, Cheng is further building the hype around the smartphone by revealing the back design of the smartphone.
The image shared by Cheng on Weibo, China’s micro-blogging platform, shows that Lenovo Z5 will feature a curved gradient glass back. It also seems to feature a now familiar Aurora blue hue similar to the one made famous by Huawei P20 Pro. The Huawei P20 and P20 Pro were announced in March with glass back supporting gradient colors. The gradient color of Aurora is basically a combination of purple and green.
Lenovo Z5 is promising to be one of the most radical smartphone to launch in the past few years. The company has created a lot of hype for the smartphone and GizmoChina reports that the launch invitation tips the device to come with several new features. The invite also makes reference to the ZUK brand listing the ZUK Z1, Z2 Pro, Z2 and ZUK Edge right to the Z5. This indicates the new Z5 will be Lenovo resurrecting its ZUK series.
In terms of specifications, the Lenovo Z5 is proving to be a bezel-less smartphone with screen-to-body ratio that could be more than 95 percent. It is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with up to 8GB of RAM. The smartphone is said to offer 4TB of onboard storage, which would be a first for any smartphone.
