West Indies lost the opening Test of their ongoing tour of India by an innings and 272 runs, giving the hosts their biggest win in the format.
Taking a dig at the visitors' performance, Harbhajan tweeted, "With all due respect to West Indies Cricket but I have a question for u all...will this west Indies team qualify for Ranji quarters from the plate group? Elite se to nahin hoga."
It led to a backlash on Twitter, especially from the ardent fans of West Indies cricket, who feel hurt to see the decline of a cricketing nation that was once invincible.
Taking Bhajji on, Best reminded the offspinner of India's tour of England preceding this series. India had lost four of the five Test in England as the hosts won 4-1.
"Hey bro didn’t see these cocky tweets vs England .... but anyhow the young men will learn," Best, who played 25 Tests for West Indies, retorted. He ended his career with 56 Test wickets, besides also playing 26 ODIs and 6 T20Is.
