Teacher Zip-Lines Across Raging River In Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh To Reach Work

[ad_1]

A video shows the Uttarakhand school teacher rappelling across a river to get to work.

Pittoragarh:

A school teacher in Uttarakhand's Pittoragarh district was seen zip-lining to work after a bridge that connects the two banks broke.

A short video shows the male teacher, in maroon shirt and trousers rolled up, being helped by a man as he begins making his way across the river. His blue knapsack is tied tightly to his chest.

The river is seen raging below as the man risks his life by pushing himself and rappelling across the river to reach the other side.

Heavy rain in Uttarakhand over the last few days have affected normal life. A number of roads were blocked due to landslides and schools remained closed in many parts of the state.

It's not just the man seen in the video who use zip-lines to cross the river after the bridge was broken. Other teachers at the government school in Danibagad reportedly get to school in the same way.

In Pithoragarh, Kali and Gori rivers are in spate and around 22 roads were blocked over the weekend.
