Malayalam superstar Dulquer Salmaan, who is fresh off the success of Nag Ashwin’s Mahanati, where he plays the character of Savitri’s (Keerthy Suresh) husband Gemini Ganesan, is all set to make his Bollywood debut with Karwaan. He will star along side Irrfan Khan in the film but his director director Akarsh Khurana feels that the actor has got the basic requirement needed to make a successful Hindi film debut in place. Akarsh revealed that actor has good command over languages and his Hindi is quite good for a South Indian actor.
“Dulquer is very good with Hindi, he is very good with languages. So, I didn’t have to work hard. He does all the hard work and makes things easy for us,” said Akash in a chat to Deccan Chronicle. Interestingly, another South superstar, Prabhas, who is all set to make his Bollywood debut with Saaho in 2019, has been taking Hindi lessons so that he can do justice to his role and impress his non-Telugu audience. We have seen many South Indian actors make a foray into Bollywood but only few have been able to surpass the language barrier and transcend the boundary in the true sense. Looks like Dulquer will have no problem endearing himself to the non-South Indian movie buffs.
Coming back to Karwaan, the first look poster of the film was revealed a couple of days ago with a new release date as August 10. The film revolves around three oddballs from different walks of life who thrown in together on a bizarre journey.
Further on his experience of working with Dulquer, Akarsh said, “I had a fantastic experience working with him, he is a multitalented actor. I feel very privileged that I am working on his first Bollywood film.” Karwaan also stars Mithila Palkar and was earlier slotted for a June 1 release. Irrfan, who was last seen in Blackmail, had been off social media following the announcement of the NeuroEndocrine Tumor. However, the actor is back on Twitter after a two month hiatus to share the new poster of the film Karwaan. In his tweet, he said, “Beginnings have the innocence that experience can’t buy. My best wishes to @dulQuer , @mipalkar for joining the karwaan. ‘ Two karwaans ‘ …. Mine and the movie !! @MrAkvarious @RSVPMovies @RonnieScrewvala.”
